Ideiglenes Jogosítvány/ Provisional Driving Licence

A mai bejegyzésben az ideiglenes jogosítávnyról lesz szó. A bejegyzést saját tapasztalataink és a megszerzett információk alapján írtam.

Today's post is about provisional driving licence. I wrote this post based on our experiences and the information we have gathered.




Az ideiglenes jogosítvány azért szükséges, hogy le tudd tenni a KRESZ vizsgát és ki tudj menni forgalomba vezetni. Az ideiglenes jogosítvány érvényes motorra, robogóra és autóra. Ennek az ára: £50 (frissítés: most már £34) és itt lehet megigényelni. 16 éves kortól lehet robogót és motort vezetni és 17 éves kortól autót.
Ami érdekes, hogy amint megkapod az ideiglenes jogosítványt, vezethetsz forgalomban (mindenféle vizsga nélkül) amennyiben a következő feltételek teljesülnek:

You need the provisional driving licence to be able to go for a Theory test and to practise driving. You can have the provisional driving licence for motorbike, moped, and car. It costs £50 (update: it is £34) and you can apply for it here. You can drive moped and motorbike when you are 16, and you have to be 17 to drive a car.
The difference here than in Hungary is that as soon as you get the provisional driving licence, you can drive (without passing any exams) if the following criteria meet:
  • Van biztosítás a te neveden az autóra (csak te vezetheted): A biztosítás itt úgy működik, hogy személyre és autóra kell kötni. Azaz, hiába van a Norbinak biztosítása az ő nevén a mi autónkra, nekem külön kell kötnöm egy másik biztosítást az én nevemre és ugyanarra az autóra- így a biztosítás olcsóbb lesz, mert így én vagyok a második biztosított arra az autóra. Tehát, ez nem úgy működik mint otthon, hogy bárki beülhet a kocsiba mert a biztosítás csak autóra kötött. Nem, itt emberre is. Ha a családban több autó van és több sofőr, akkor mindenki megköti a biztosítást arra az autóra, amit valószínüleg vezetni fog. A biztosítás összege attól is függ, hogy ki hány autóra köt biztosítást (és még nagyon sok dologtól függ). Ha erről érdekelne titeket több információ, akkor írjátok meg a komment részben.

    You have insurance under your name (only you can drive it): The insurance is a bit different than at home. You have to make an insurance under your name for the car. I mean, however Norbi has insurance on his name for our car, I have to buy an insurance on my name to be able to drive the same car- the insurance will be cheaper for me, because I would be the second driver. So it doesn’t work like at home, when anybody can drive any car, because the insurance has to be under your name for that particular car. If there are more cars and more drivers in a family, then everybody has to have a separate insurance for those cars what they will drive. The price of the insurance depends on how many car you will drive (and on other circumstances). If you want more information about this, let me know in the comment box.
  • Ül melletted egy olyan személy, akinek minimum 3 éve teljes jogosítványa van.

    Someone sit next to you, who has minimum 3 years full driving licence.
  • Elől és hátul kell lennie egy L matricának (L Plate) az autón, ez azt jelenti, hogy tanuló vezető vezeti az autót.

    L plates must be displayed on the front and the rear of the vehicle, it means you are a Learner.

  • Nem lehet autópályán vezetni.

    You are not allowed to drive on a motorway.
Ennek köszönhetően nagyon drága a biztosítás fiatal kezdőknek, akár lehet évi £4-5000/év.

The consequence of this is that the insurance can be really expensive for new, young drivers, approx.  £4-5000 a year.

Frissítés 2016.05.22: 2015 júniustól már nem adnak igazoló lapot és a meglévőt is meg lehet semmisteni akkor ha a jogsid műanyag kártyából van. (Amennyiben 1998 előtt szerezted a jogsidat és csak igazoló lapod van, nincs kártyád, ebben ne dobd ki a papírt) Több információért kattints az Kormányzati honlapra (angol nyelvű).

Update 22.05.2016: From June 2015 you do not get the paper Counterpart and you can destroy it if you only have a card based driving licence. (If you got your licence before 1998 and you only have a paper licence not a card, then do not throw the licence away) For more information click to the Government website. 


A KRESZ-t, otthon is illetve tanfolyam keretében is lehet tanulni, erre nincsen kötelező előírás. Általában a legtöbb könyvesboltban lehet venni KRESZ könyveket. Okostelefonra is lehet letölteni (némelyiket pénzért, de van ingyen is) gyakorló programokat. Érdemes előre lefoglalni a vizsga időpontját, mert nagyon hosszú a várólista, addig meg lehet tanulni otthon. Ezzel párhuzamosan, akár még a vizsga letétele előtt is el lehet kezdeni a vezetéstanulást oktatóval (vagy amint az előbb említettem, egy olyan személlyel akinek van 3 éves jogsija). Elsősegély tanfolyamot nem kell megcsinálnod, és nincs kötelező, vezetési óraszám sem. Annyit vezetsz amennyit akarsz, csak menj át a vizsgán.

You can learn the Theory of driving at home or in a course, there is no obligation for that. You can buy the books in most bookshops. You can also download applications (for couple of pounds or for free) to practise the Theory. It worths to book the appointment for the Theory Test first, because the waiting list is really long, until then you can study at home. In the same time, before passing any Theory test, you can start learning to drive with an instructor (or as I mentioned before with a person who has minimum 3 years driving licence). You don’t need to take first aider course (like in Hungary) and there is no minimum hours of driving. You can drive as much as you want, you just have to pass the test.
