Végre 4 év után.../ Finally after 4 years...

Végre 4 év után kijöttek a szüleim meglátogatni bennünket. Még mindig hihetetlen, hogy meg tudtam mutatni nekik a főbb helyszíneket ahol az elmúlt 4 évünket töltöttük.
Finally after 4 years my parents visited us. I still cannot believe that I could show them most of the places where we have been in the last 4 years.

Sajnos két hete csütörtökön (Július 17) Norbi kórházba került, napokig bent maradt, aztán pedig mindennap vissza kellett menni vizsgálatokra, majd az operációra. Így sajnos mindennapossá vált a Derby kórház látogatása a többi program mellett. De mindent elmagyarázok erről egy külön bejegyzésben később.

Unfortunately two weeks ago (17th July) Norbi got into hospital, stayed there for couple of days and then we had to go back for further examination everyday and finally for the operation. So it was a daily programme to visit the Derby hospital besides the other programmes. But I will explain everything in another post a bit later.

Hónapok, sőt évek óta azt várom, hogy a szüleim kijöjjenek és meglássák hol lakunk. A szüleim pénteken érkeztek úgy, hogy még előtte sosem voltak külföldön, még repülőn sem utaztak. Úgyhogy nagyon aggódtam, hogy minden rendben legyen velük, közben pedig persze Norbival voltam minden pillanatban amikor csak lehetett. A Wizzair légitársaságot választottuk, hiszen ott magyarul beszél a személyzet, ami azért ad egy kis plusz biztonságérzetet. Viszont a Wizzair London-Lutonba megy ami tőlünk 2 óra. Szóval megkértem Norbi unokatestvérét, hogy vigyen le, nem vagyok még tapasztalt sofőr, hogy lemenjek egyedül. (Persze, ha muszáj lett volna, akkor lementem volna, de így egyszerűbb volt). A szüleim szerencsésen megérkeztek és még a repülés is tetszett nekik.

I was waiting months and years for my parents to visit us and see where we live. My parents have never been abroad, they never travelled by airplane either. So I was really nervous about their journey and was hoping that everything was going well, and in the same time I was trying to spend as much time as I could with Norbi. We chose Wizzair as their flight attendants speak Hungarian which gives a bit of more comfort. But Wizzair only goes to London Luton which is 2 hours far from Derby. So I asked Norbi's cousin to give me a lift, I am not an experienced driver and I did not want to go alone. (Of course, if he would not be able to give me a lift I could have gone alone, but this was easier). My parents arrived safely and they enjoyed the flight.

Terveink között szerepelt lemenni a tengerhez Wales-be, Barmouthba és Londonba is szerettünk volna eltölteni egy napot, de így csak a környéket jártuk be. Megmutattam az egyetemet Derbyban és Buxtonban (4 kampusz), jártunk az Elvaston Kastélynál, a Fekete Szikláknál, Carsington Water-nél, Goyt Valley-ben és megmutattuk a legtöbb helyet ahol laktunk :) Sokat sétáltunk.

We planned to go to the sea to Wales, Barmouth and we wanted to spend a day in London, but we stayed in Derbyshire instead. I showed them the university in Derby and Buxton (all the 4 campuses), Elvaston Castle, Black Rocks, Carsington Water, Goyt Valley and most of the places where we lived before. :) We walked a lot.

Az első szombaton esett az eső, de a többi napon hőség volt. 4 éve mióta kijöttünk nem volt ilyen jó idő.
It was raining on the first day, but on the other days it was really hot. Since we came to England we have not experienced such a hot weather like this.

Örülök, hogy meg tudtuk mutatni a vidéki Angliát hiszen sokan azt gondolják Anglia= London, pedig ez nem igaz. Nekünk a valódi természeti szépség itt van, nem is tudnánk elköltözni Derbyshire-ből mégegyszer.

I am really happy we could show them the rural England because lots of people think England= London but that is not true. For us the real beauty is here, we could never move from Derbyshire again.

University of Derby, Kedleston Road Campus
Nem titok, hogy imádom az itteni egyetemet. Csak egy évet jártam a Kedleston Road-i egyetemre, de idén szeretném befejezni a harmadévet és ismét itt dolgozom (erről majd szintén később bővebben). Egyszerűen imádom. Az épületet, az embereket, a tanítási módszert, mindent.
It is not a secret that I love the University of Derby. I just studied one year but this year I want to finish my third year and I work in university again (I will write about it later). I just love it. The building, the people, the teaching methods, everything.

Jimmy's Grill Bar
Moonsha után mindenképpen szerettük volna megmutatni a különböző ázsiai ízeket (indiai, kínai stb.), amire a Jimmy's étterem szerintem a legjobb a városban. Itt írtam róla bejegyzést.
After Moonsha we wanted to show the different Asian cuisine (Indian, Chinese etc.), and  I think Jimmy's is the best place for this in town. I wrote a blog post about it here.

University of Derby, Devonshire Campus, Buxton
Ez az egyetem buxton-i kampusza. Itt töltöttem két évet amikor Vendéglátás menedzsmentet tanultam. Furcsa volt visszamenni hiszen eszembe jutottak a jó és rossz élmények, az, hogy mennyire más volt az életünk akkoriban és mennyire büszke vagyok magunkra, hogy hova jutottunk. Sosem fogom elfelejteni azt, hogy honnan jöttem és azt amit a buxton-i kampusz nyújtott nekem mint egy kis magyar egyetemistának.
This is the Buxton Campus of University of Derby. I spent two years here when I studied Hospitality management. It was strange to go back as all the good and bad memories came up, and to realise how different our life was then and how proud I am for where we got to. I will never forget where I was coming from and what Buxton gave me as a small Hungarian uni student.

Ez is abszolút kedvencünk, ha kínait szeretnénk enni akkor mindenképpen ide jövünk. Itt már írtam erről bejegyzést.

Carsington Water
Erről már írtam egy bejegyzést itt, de ismét ellátogattunk hiszen gyönyörű. A Carsington Water egy hatalmas nagy víztározó, ami a Derwent folyóból leeresztett vízet tárolja télen, majd nyáron visszaeresztik. Ezt az egész víztározót és a körülötte lévő parkot a Severn Trent Water üzemelteti, ami az egyik angliai vízszolgáltató.
I wrote a blog post about it already here, but we had to visit it again as it is beautiful. Carsington water is a huge reservoir, which stores the water from River Derwent in winter, and release it back in summer. The reservoir is operated by Severn Trent Water.

Idén megnéztük a Látogatóközpontot is. A környezettudatosságra nevel, nagyon jó, interaktív programokat kínál.
Ez a játék azt mutatja be, hogy a munkások mit találnak a csatornában. A világító körbe kell belenyúlni és kitapogatni az adott tárgyat (műfogsort, telefont, pelenkát stb.)

This year we went to the Visitors Centre. It educates for Eco-friendly lifestyle and it has really good interactive programmes.
This game shows what workers find in the sewer. You have to put your hand into the illuminated circle and touch the different items (denture, telephone, nappy etc.)

I wrote a post about this one as well here, but this is a Must to show it to my parents thing. The view is breathtaking.

Remélem a szüleimnek nagyon tetszett Anglia és legközelebb is jönnek. Nagyon sok szép látnivaló van az országban amit meg kell nézni.

I hope my parents liked England and they will come next time as well. There are so many beautiful things which must be seen.
