A karácsony előtti napok hamar elrepültek, dolgoztunk és tanultunk sokat. Aztán végre december 21-től itthon voltam, de megbetegedtem, ami sajnos eléggé rányomta bélyegét az ünnepekre. De kezdem az elején...
The days before Christmas went very fast, we worked and studied a lot. Finally I was at home from 21th, but I was ill which was not good at the middle of the Xmas period. I start from the begining...
Mi a karácsony első részét elég hamar megtartottunk, amikor is megérkezett a 15 kilós "kis" csomag a szüleimtől. Ezt már sokszor említettem, de van egy érzés, ami szavakkal leírhatatlan. Amikor leszállok Ferihegyen és meglátom a szüleimet, amikor képeslapot kapok tőlük, amikor csomagot kapok stb. Leírhatatlan. Határtalan boldogságot érzek, miközben a szívem összeszorul, és potyogó könnyel bontom az ajándékokat :) Szóval kaptunk zselés szaloncukrot, sport szeletet és túrórudit, BUDAPEST feliratú pólókat, mézet, magyar zászlót, bort, virágot, pirosaranyat, gulyáskrémet, petrezselyem gyökeret, petrezselymet, kolbászt, sonkát, szalonnát, bőr kesztyűt, smink cuccot, képeslapot és ajándékra valót a többi rokonaimtól, és még megannyi mindent, felsorolni is nehéz. Nem a csomag értéke a fontos, hanem a kedvesség, hogy gondoltak ránk és a szeretet amit tartalmazott.
We celebrated the first part of Xmas when we received a "small" 15kilo parcel from my parents. I mentioned this many times already, but I have to speak about this feeling again. I cannot describe it with words, it is just impossible. I feel this when I land in Budapest and see my parents, when I receive postcard/parcel from them. Indescribable. I am very very happy, but in the same time my heart was tightness (in a good way) and I open the presents bursting in tears. :) So we got Hungarian chocolates, sweets, BUDAPEST T-shirt, honey, Hungarian flag, wine, flower, Hamburg parsley, sausage, ham, leather gloves, makeup, postcard with pocket money from the relatives, and many more. Not the price of the parcel what is important, but the kidness and love what they sent us in it.
Az egyetemen is részt vettünk egy karácsonyi rendezvényen. A Business, Computing and Law Faculty (Üzlet, Számítástechnika, és Jog Tanszék) szevezett egy karácsonyi estet a nemzetközi tanulóknak (a részvétel ingyenes volt). Megvendégeltek minket tipikus angol karácsonyi étellel és választhattunk többféle ital közül: fehér-, vörösbor, narancslé, víz.
A tipikus karácsonyi étel: sült pulyka, köretnek: krumpli krokett, krumpli püré, sütőben sült krumpli, zöldségek: főtt répa és kelbimbó, sült paszternák, párolt káposzta, baconbe tekert sült koktél virsli, töltelék, szósz: gravy, vörösáfonya. Az étel-, és italfogyasztás korlátlan volt és pincérek szolgáltak fel. (furcsa volt most a másik oldalon lenni, nem pincérként dolgozni)
We went to a Xmas party to the universtiy. The Business, Computing and Law Faculty organised a Xmas event to international students (it was free). We were invited to a Xmas dinner and we could choose from many drinks such as white-, and red wine, orange juice, water.
The typical Xmas dinner is roast turkey, potatoe croquettes, mash potatoe, roast potatoe, cooked carrot and brussels sprouts, roast parsnips, braised cabbage, cocktail sausage in bacon, gravy and cranberry sauce. Waiters were serving the food and drinks and we could eat and drink as much we wanted. (it was weird being on the other side, not working as a waitress)

Norbi volt a karácsony hőse, kidekorálta a lakást, megfőzőtt és közben engem is ápolt. A karácsonyfa az én érdemem, meg azért igyekeztem én is valamit csinálgatni.
Írtam már a lakásról, hogy ez egyáltalán nem volt berendezve, tehát elég sok mindent kell(ett) beszerezni. Most az ünnepekre, vettünk új étkészletet, poharakat, mécses tartókat, terítőt stb. Így már igazán otthonos lett. :)
Norbi was the hero of Xmas, he decorated the house, he cooked a 3 course menu, and he also took care about me. However I decorated the Xmas tree and tried to help him. As I mentioned earlier this flat was unfurnished, so we had to buy lot of things. We bought new plates, cutleries, glasses, candle holders, tablecloth etc. Now I feel the flat more homy :)
The menu fish soup (rainbow trout), roasted duck braised cabbage mash potatoe, coconut swirl.
Norbi put Xmas lights behind the Budapest picture so we can see it in dark as well, it is beautiful. :)
Ajándékot nem vettünk egymásnak, mert így is örültünk, hogy ilyen szépre sikeredett az ünnep. Végre tudtunk venni mosógépet és sütőt 4 hónap után. Nem is tudom elmondani mennyire jó érzés :) Ennél szebbet és jobbat, mint ami most van nem is kívánhatnék.
We did not buy presents to each other, we were happy that we could have a beautiful Xmas. After 4 months we could afford to buy a washing machine and a mini oven. I cannot tell you how good is this feeling :) I could not wish any better than I have at this moment.
25-én átjött egy magyar ismerősünk, beszélgettünk, jót ettünk és társasjátékoztunk.
On the 25th one of our Hungarian friend came over, we had a great conversation, a good dinner and we played board game.
