Today's topic is about the rain in England, because it rains a lot, and the summer is not that sunny 30 degrees summer.

Kétszer jártam Angliában mint turista 2007-ben (augusztus) és 2008-ban (április). Az első alkalommal felszerelkezdtünk mindenféle vízálló dologgal a barátnőimmel (mert mindenki azt mondta, hogy Angliában csak esik az eső..), és meglepődtünk, hogy talán ha egyszer esett. Ezért második alkalommal már annyira nem készültem fel, azt hiszem szinte végig esett..I have been in England twice as a tourist in 2007 (August) and 2008 (April). At first time we (I was with my friends) brought waterproof clothes (as we heard it rains a lot in England) and we were surprised that it rained once. That's why for the second time I did not care about waterproof stuff and of course it was raining all the time :)
Amikor kijöttem "véglegesen", nem hoztam magammal meleg-, és vízálló dolgokat. Meleg ruhákat azért nem, mert úgy volt, ha kint is maradok, akkor is haza megyek szeptemberben összeszedni pár cuccot (végülis decemberben sikerült haza jutni), a vízállló cuccokkal meg úgy voltam, hogy nem lehet ez az eső téma annyira durva, csak jó mondani, hogy itt mindig esik az eső. :)
When I moved to England I did not bring warm-, and waterproof clothes. I did not bring warm clothes because it was that I will go home in September to fetch some stuff (I could go home in December), and about the waterproof clothes I thought it cannot rain very heavily, just it is cool to say it is always raining in England :)
Az első héten, mikor már bemerészkedtem a városba, és bementem a Primark-ba, vettem pár dolgot, és amikor ki akartam menni az üzletből szakadt az eső. Három lehetőségem volt: vagy veszek egy esernyőt, ha már úgyis ott van előttem, vagy pedig haza indulok és sz*rrá ázok, vagy pedig az üzletben várok. Így vettem meg az első és utolsó esernyőmet 1fontért. :)
On the first week when I was brave enough to go to the city centre, I went to Primark to buy some clothes and when I wanted to leave the shop it started raining heavily. I had 3 choices: buy an umbrella as I was in the shop, go home and get soaked or wait in the shop. So I bought my first and last umbrella for one pound.

Az az esernyő pár hét múlva tönkrement. Azóta nem vettem esernyőt, és eddig nem is éreztem hiányát. Ha nagyon esik az eső, akkor felveszem a vízálló kabátomat, a fejemre pedig a kapucnit, esetleg egy gumicsizmát ha tényleg nagyon gáz az időjárás. Kb. 1 éve szoktam rá, hogy a szövetkabátomban indulok el dolgozni/suliba és mindig van velem egy kendő (meg néha sapka), ami néha sálként, néha az eső ellen funkcionál. Eddig még nem áztam meg nagyon. :)
That umbrella broke after few weeks. Since then I did not buy an umbrella and I do not miss it. If it rains heavily I wear my waterproof coat and put the hood on and in the worst case wellies as well. Since a year ago I wear my peacoat if I go to work/uni and I always have a thin scarf (and sometimes a hat) with me which can function as a scarf or to protect me against rain. I have not got soaking wet. :)
Nyár közeledtével sokan kijönnek az Egyesült Királyságba "nyaralni", ezért gondoltam megosztok pár tanácsot öltözködést illetően. Londonban melegebb van mint mondjuk Manchesterben, de minden esetben készüljünk fel esős időre, mert sajnos a hír igaz, gyakran esik az eső. Londonban még nem éltem, de Derby-ban és Buxtonban (Közép Anglia) nagyon sokat esik az eső főleg áprilisban, májusban és októberben és novemberben. Nyáron, Közép Angliában nagyon ritka a 30fok. A 2 évem alatt maximum 5 nap volt 30 fok a nyáron. El tudom képzelni, hogy Londonban melegebb van, vagyis inkább többször van 30 fok mint Derby környékén. Ezért menekülnek az angolok évente kétszer nyaralni.
As summer gets closer lost of people come to UK for a "summer" holiday therefore I would like to share some ideas about how to dress. The weather is warmer in London than for example in Manchester, but in any case be prepared for a rainy weather, because it is true that it rains very often here. I have not lived in London yet, but it rains a lot in Derby, Buxton (Middle of England) especially in April, May, October and November. It is very rare for a temperature to reach 30 degrees in summer in the Middle of England. Since the two years I live in UK there were only 5 days with a temperature of 30. I can imagine that the weather is warmer in London or at least it is more common than around Derby. That is why English people escape twice a year for a holiday.

Skóciában is sokat esik az eső, és eléggé megtréfáló az időjárás. Reggel erősen süt a nap, majd jégeső esik, aztán megint egy kis napsütés, majd egy kis eső... (Legalábbis az elmúlt egy hónap ezt mutatja) Erre az időjárásra nem lehet jól felkészülni :) Mivel a gumicsizmám kilyukadt, ezért az első dolgom lesz fizetéskor beszerezni egy jó, strapabíró darabot.
It rains a lot here in Scotland and the weather is weird. The weather changes in every 10 minutes from sunshine to hail and rain. (This is our experience in the last one month) We cannot be well-prepared for this weather. There is a hole on my wellies so my first thing will be when I get my salary to buy new ones.
Amúgy itt Angliában (és gondolom Skóciában is) nagyon sokszor hordanak az emberek gumicsizmát. Ha télen esik a hó, többségük téli bundás csizma helyett, gumicsizmát hordanak nagy, térdig érő zoknival.
Anyway people wear wellies very often in England (and probably in Scotland as well). In the winter when it snows most of them wear wellies with knee high socks instead of warm winter boots.
