I have never thought I will live in Scotland, not even that I will write about Scottish banknotes. The topic is very actual because there are many types of banknotes in circulation.
Három fő bank van Skóciában, és mind a három külön nyomtat pénzjegyeket és azon belül is több fajta van.
There are three main banks in Scotland (Royal Bank of Scotland, Bank of Scotland, Clydesdale) and all of them print their own banknotes within different series.

Érdekesség, hogy 20 fontosnál nagyobb címletű bankjegyeket nem nagyon szeretnek elfogadni, tehát ha pénzt váltotok, kisebb címleteket kérjetek (5-10-20 fontos). Amióta Angliában élünk nem fogtunk még 50es bankkegyet, csak amit Magyarországról a váltótól hoztam.
Interesting fact that shops do not like to accept bigger notes than 20pounds, so if you exchange money ask smaller value notes (5-10-20 pounds). Since we live in England we have not touched any 50pound note, just when I brought it with me from Hungary what I received from the Exchange Office.
Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS)
Royal Bank of Scotland megalapítása az 1700-as évekre nyúlik vissza. Főleg Skóciában van kihelyezett bankfiókjuk de megtalálhatók Walesben és Angliában is a nagyobb városokban.
Foundation of Royal Bank of Scotland dates back to 1700. Mainly there are bank brances in Scotland but there are also in bigger cities in Wales and England.

Bank of Scotland-ot 1694-ben alapították azzal a szándékkal, hogy skót vállalkozásokat támogasson.
2 féle pénz van forgalomban a Bank of Scotland által a Bridges (Hidak) és a Tercentenary (300éves). A Bridges-t 2007 adták ki, és le fogja váltani a Tercentenary-t de még mind a két pénz forgalomban van.
Bank of Scotland was established in 1694 with the aim of supporting scottish businesses. Recently two types of banknotes are in the circulation the Bridges Series and the Tercentenary. The Bridges was launched in 2007 and will replace the Tercentenary but in meantime both are in circulation.

Clydesdale Bank
Clydesdale Bankot 1838-ban alapították, Glasgowban. 2 féle pénz van forgalomban a World Heritage (Világörökség) sorozat és a Famous Scots (Híres Skótok). World Heritage sorozatot 2009-ben adták ki, és le fogja váltani a Famous Scots-t de még mind a kettő forgalomban van.
Clydesdale Bank was established in 1838 in Glasgow. There are two types of banknotes, the World Heritage and the Famous Scots series. The World Heritage was launched in 2009 and will replace the Famous Scots series but in meantime both are in circulation.
