Chatsworth vacsora/dinner

Március 2-án került megrendezésre egy "karácsonyi" vacsora a Chatsworth ház dolgozóinak. Ez eddig a legnagyobb rendezvény amit az egyetem valaha rendezett.
There was a "Christmas" dinner for Chatsworth house' employees on the 2nd March in the university. This was the largest function the university has ever hosted.

Chatsworth házról azt kell tudni, hogy Devonshire megye hercege él itt a családjával, aki az iskola elnöke. A Cavendish család birtokában van a ház 1549 óta. Több filmet is forgattak itt, mint például a Büszkeség és Balítélet (2005), és a Hercegnő (2008).

The Duke of Devonshire lives in Chatsworth house with his family, who actually the chairman of the university. The Cavendish family own this house since 1549. Chatsworth appeared in some movies like Pride and Prejudice (2005) and The Duchess (2008).

A vendégek száma 791 fő volt, és mindösszesen 77 percünk volt felszolgálni a főételt és a desszertet. A szervezés nagyon profi volt, 3 hónapot készültek erre az eseményre. A megrendelő annyira megvolt elégedve a szervezéssel, és a elbonyolítással, hogy innentől kezdve minden évben itt rendezik meg ezt a vacsorát.

The number of guests was 791, and we had 77 minutes to serve the main course and the dessert. It took 3 months to organise this event and it was absolutely professional. Chatsworth was very satisfied so they decided to hold this event in the university every year from now on.

A dékánunk ezt mondta a rendezvényről:
"A péntek esti rendezvény lenyűgöző volt, és bebizonyította, hogy milyen értékesek az egyetem dolgozói és diákjai. Olyat vittünk véghez amit egyik egyetem vendéglátós csapata sem ért el, és talán most kerültünk legközelebb az "Egyesült Királyság gyakorlati képzés központja" címhez. Most megmutattuk mit tudunk elérni, azt amit még a Svájci partneriskolánk sem tudott, és olyan módon egyesítette és inspirálta diákjainkat ez a rendezvény, melyet eddig soha nem tapasztaltam.

The Dean of the university said:

"Friday night’s event was spectacular and a great credit to our teams both of staff and students. We delivered something that no other UK university hospitality team has achieved and so perhaps for the first time we are genuinely within reach of the title ‘the UK centre for experiential learning’

We have now demonstrated what we can achieve and to a standard that not even our Swiss partners have aspired to, and in so doing we have galvanised and inspired our students to a level and an extent I have never before witnessed.

A party este 7 órakor kezdődött, amikor is üdvözlő itallal (welcome drink :)) és kis falatkákkal (canape) vártuk a vendégeket. 

The party started at 7pm, when we started to serve welcome drinks and canapes.

Igen, jól látjátok, az az én orrom :) Yes, that is my nose :)

Hatalmas élmény és tapasztalat volt ez a vacsora. Nem csak a Dome-ban voltak asztalok, hanem az erkélyen is, és 50-en dolgoztunk egész este.
This was a great event and a great experience. There were tables not only in the Dome, but on the balcony as well, and 50 employee were working all night.
