Forgalmi vizsga Angliában/ Practical driving test in UK

Április 29-én volt a forgalmi vizsgám. Ebben a bejegyzésben elmesélem, hogy milyen volt és milyen feladatokat kaptam.
I had the driving practical exam on the 29th April. In this post I will tell you how it was and what tasks I got.

A vizsga összesen 45 percig tart és a következő feladatokat tartalmazza:
The exam lasts for 45 minutes and contains the following tasks:

1. Le kell olvasni egy rendszámtáblát (amit a vizsgáztató választ ki) 20.5 méterről. Ezzel tudják ellenőrizni a látásodat. Nem kell külön beszerezni orvosi igazolást, mint otthon.
Itt érdemes kiemelni, hogy az angol rendszámtáblák különbözőek mint Magyarországon. Először is, az első tábla fehér, a hátsó pedig sárga. Ahogyan a képen is látjátok, az első két betű a helyi regisztrációs irodát jelöli ahol az autót beregisztrálták, a két szám középen az autó beregisztrálásának az évét jelenti és az utolsó 3 betű pedig véletlenszerű.
Az első szám az autó beregisztrálásának az idejét jelöli:

  • Ha 1-es van ott akkor azt jelenti, hogy március és szeptember között lett regisztrálva az autó, 
  • Ha 5-ös szám van az szeptembertől a következő év februárig.

A második szám a gyártási évet mutatja.
Ez a rendszer 2001-től érvényes, tehát a régebbi autóknak különböző a rendszáma.

1. You have to read a number plate (the examiner will choose this) from 20.5 metre. They check your eyesight with this exercise. You do not need any certificate from your GP, this will be enough to check your eyesight.
The number plates are different than in Hungary. The first one is white, but the rear one is yellow. As you can see on the picture, the first two letters show the local registration office where the car has been registered, the two numbers in the middle indicates the year of the registration and the last three letters are just random.
The first number shows the issue number of the car. 

  • If there is 1 that means the car has been registered between March and September,
  • If there is a number 5 there it has been made between September and February the following year. 
The second number shows the year of the manufacture.
This system was introduced from 2001, so older cars have different number plates.

2. A második feladat a Show me tell me: Ez azt jelenti, hogy a vizsgáztató fel fog tenni két kérdést az autóról vagy annak működéséről. Az egyiket meg kell mutatni (show me) és elmagyarázni, a másodikat pedig csak el kell magyarázni (tell me). Az oktatótól előzőleg kapunk példa kérdéseket, de KRESZ könyvekben is megtalálható, vagy mobil alkalmazásokban, különböző weboldalakon.
Tőlem azt kérdezte a vizsgáztató, hogy magyarázzam el honnan tudom, hogy a gumi elhasználódott. Elkezdtem volna megmutatni, de mondta, hogy ezt csak el kell magyarázzam. A megmutatós feladat az volt, hogy nyomjam meg a dudát. Ennél egyszerűbbet nem is kaphattam volna :)

The second task is the Show me tell me: this means that the examiner will ask two questions about the car and its operation. The first one you have to show and explain, the second one you just have to explain. We got example questions from the instructor, but you can find them in theory of driving books, mobile apps, and on different websites.
The examiner asked me how would I check if the tyres are worn out. I wanted to show her, but she said I just have to explain it. The Show me question was to sound the horn. I could not get an easier one. :)

3. A vizsgán egy kijelölt teszt úton megyünk, ahol többféle forgalmi helyzetet kell megoldanunk. Előzőleg az oktatóval sokat jártunk erre, hogy ne legyen teljesen ismeretlen a helyzet. A vizsga alatt meg kell csinálni egy manővert ami lehet: tolatás a kanyarban (reversing around the corner), parkolás két vonal közé (bay parking), párhuzamos parkolás (parallel parking), 3 pontos forduló (3 point turn, turn in the road).
A vizsgaközpont parkolójából én indultam el utolsóként, ezért megkért a vizsgáztató csináljam meg a parkolást (Bay parking). Örültem, mert akkor már nem kell több manővert megcsinálnom. Kellett korrigálnom amiért egy hibapont járt, de sikerült beállnom, minden rendben volt.

3. On the exam we drive on a test route, where we have to resolve a range of road and traffic conditions. Beforehand we drove on these test routes so it was not totally unfamiliar. During the exam we have to do one manouver which could be: reversing around the corner, bay parking, parallel parking and 3 point turn.
I was the last one in the test centre, so the examiner asked me to do the bay parking. I was happy, because then I did not have to do any more manouver. I had to correct it so I got a minor fault for it, but other than that everything was fine.

4. A vizsgáztató kérheti, hogy vészfékezz. Ez annyit jelent, hogy amikor azt mondja STOP, te azonnal megállsz. Ebben az esetben nem kell körülnézned, nem kell semmi mást csinálnod, csak megállni. Minden másra figyel a vizsgáztató. Az én vizsgámon nem volt vészfékezés, ez abszolút a vizsgáztató döntése.

4. The examiner can ask you to do an emergency stop. This means when she says STOP you must stop. In this case you do not have to look around or do anything else, just stop. The examiner will do everything else. I did not have to do emergency stop on my exam, it is the examiner's decision.
5. Van egy Önálló vezetési (Independent Driving) rész, ahol megadott instrukciók alapján kell vezetni. Általában megadnak egy adott városnevet és azt kell követni. Norbinak azt mondták menjen Burton on Trent fele viszont nálam ez máshogy volt (lehet azért mert a városban maradtunk). Azt mondta a vizsgáztató menjek át egyenesen az elkövetkezendő 3 körforgalmon.
Én városban vezettem, szóval nem kellett kimennem egyáltalán főútra vagy ilyesmi.
Ez a rész 10 percig tart és csak az elindulás előtt mondják el maximum 2-szer az irányt, utána te mész egyedül, a vizsgáztató segítsége nélkül.

5.There is an Independent Driving part on the exam, where you have to drive based on instructions. Usually the examiner tells you to follow the road towards a town. Norbi was told to follow the signs for Burton on Trent, but for me it was different (possibly because we were in the city). The examiner asked me to go straight on the next 3 roundabouts.
I was driving in the city so I did not have to go to a dual carrigeway.
This part of the test lasts for 10 minutes, and they only tell you the instructions twice, then you have to go on your own, the examiner will not help you.

A vizsga előtt gyakoroltunk másfél órát, amin a manőverek nem annyira sikerültek, úgyhogy nagyon izgultam. De aztán amint megláttam a vizsgáztatót, egy idősebb férfit, teljesen megnyugodtam. Olyan nyugodtan mentem az úton, hogy még én is meglepődtem.

Before the test I have practised for one and a half hour and I could not really do the manouvers so I was really nervous. But then when I saw my examiner, an elder man, I calmed down. I was driving calmly I was really surprised.

Összesen 15 kisebb hiba lehet, nekem ebből csak 4 volt. Egyszer lefulladtam, korrigálnom kellett a parkolást, közel mentem a parkoló autókhoz és a legutolsó, hogy kimentem valaki elé a körforgalomba (szerintem nem volt nagyon közel, de mindegy).

In total you can have 15 minor faults, I only had 4. Once I stalled the car, had to correct the bay parking, went too close to the parked cars and the last one was when I pulled out in front of a car in a roundabout (I do not think it was that close, but anyway)

Nagyon nagyon büszke voltam magamra :) Ott helyben  a vizsgaközpontban kaptam egy oklevelet amivel már lehet vezetni is, a jogosítvány pár napon belül érkezett meg.

I am really proud of myself. :) Right there in the test centre I got a certificate so I could drive from then on, and the licence arrived within couple of days.
Mindkét oktatómnak Jason-nek (BSM autósiskola) és Wayne-nek (AA autósiskola) is rengeteget köszönhetek, hiszen leküzdöttem segítségükkel az egyik legnagyobb félelmemet. Örök hálám nekik.
