Two weeks ago on Sunday I had an idea to go to a patisserie to the nearest town, Burton on Trent.
A Patisserie Valerie-t Yorkban találtuk meg teljesen véletlenül még decemberben. Nagyon megtetszett nekünk, mert itt Angliában igazi cukrászdát addig még nem láttunk.
When we were in York in December we found a patisserie by an accident. We fell in love with it, because we did not see any other patisserie in England.

Nagyon sok süti közül lehetett választani, hirtelen nem is tudtuk mit együnk. A york-i utazás nem sikerült valami jól, erről itt olvashattok, a tortákat a buszban kellett megennünk amíg várakoztunk a megmentő buszra. Ez nem volt valami romantikus, habár nagyon éhesek voltunk tehát jól esett.
There were lot of types of cakes we could not choose easily. As you know the trip in York was not very good you can read about it here, so we had to eat the cakes in the bus while we were waiting for the rescue bus. It was not very romantic but we were hungry so it was very good.
Ezért gondoltam ki, hogy akkor most céltudatosan megnézzük a legközelebbi Patisserie Valerie-t Burton on Trentben, ebédelünk, kávézunk/teázunk és tortát eszünk.
That is why I had the idea to go to the nearest Patisserie Valerie in Burton on Trent to have lunch, coffee/tea and eat cake.
A busz fél óra alatt ott volt, a kettőnk retúr jegye 10fontba került. Kicsit mászkáltunk a városban, felfedeztük a 3 bevásárlóközpontot, találtunk annyit eszel amennyit akarsz kínai éttermet, és megannyi nagyon jó boltot.
Going to Burton upon Trent takes half an hour by bus and the return tickets cost 10pounds for both of us. We were walking in the city centre, discovered the 3 shopping centre, we found all you can eat Chinese restaurant and many good shops.
Az egyik bevásárló központban megtaláltuk a Patisserie Valerie-t, de azt gondoltuk lesz külön egy cukrászda, ez inkább csak kávézó volt. Nem volt. Teljesen felborította a tervünket, nem ezt szerettük volna. Hosszas gondolkodás után elmentünk a McDonald's-ba, hogy legalább kapjunk olimpiás poharat, majd visszamentünk a kávézóba.
We found Patisserie Valerie in one of the shopping centres but we thought that there will be a normal patisserie not just like a coffee house. But there was not any. Our plan did not come true. After a while we went to the Mcdonald's to have an Olympic glass and then we went back to Patisserie Valerie.
Vettünk 3 tortaszeletet, de nem esett jól :( Száraz volt, és annyit nyűglődtünk, hogy már azt nem kellett volna megvenni.
We bought 3 cakes but it was not a good idea. :( The cakes were dry, and we should not have had to buy them anyway after that struggle :(
Mindegy, annyi jó volt az egészben, hogy megint kimozdultunk, együtt voltunk egész nap.
All in all it was good to go somewhere and be together for a whole day.
Ui.: Most láttam a Patisserie Valerie Facebook oldalán, hogy nyitottak egy igazi cukrászdát Nottinghamben. :)
Ps.: I just saw on the Patisserie Valerie's Facebook page that they opened a patisserie in Nottingham :)
